Red Dead Online Gets Its Own Oppressor Mk II Thanks To Hilarious New Bug

Highlights

  • A new bug in Red Dead Online allows horses to fly.
  • Many want the bug to be left in the game, as Rockstar is no longer working on new content for the live-service title.
  • While making use of the exploit is ill-advised, it’s unlikely to get you banned by Rockstar.

A new bug has been discovered in the long-abandoned Red Dead Online, allowing horses to fly and wreak havoc on the ground below.

Despite the fact that this bug is the equivalent of Grand Theft Auto Online’s controversial Oppressor Mk II, players say they don’t want it to be removed. Likely because Rockstar has pulled most of its development team onto Grand Theft Auto VI, resulting in the “death” of Red Dead Online. So, take what you can get, I guess. Even if it is a flying horse bug.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Player Shares Heartbreaking Teary Arthur Detail

In case you were thinking of hurting Arthur in Red Dead Redemption 2, there’s a very good reason why you shouldn’t.

The bug was shared by YouTuber PVP Cat, who noted that this bug appears to be available on both Xbox and PlayStation, but there was no word on whether or not it had made its way to PC.

On March 19, Rockstar Games deployed title update 1.32 for Red Dead Redemption 2. While the patch, obviously, had no new content included in it, it did include some “general fixes” for Red Dead Online. Unfortunately, those general fixes appear to have caused a new bug to rear its head.

Red Dead Online Now Has Flying Horses…Kinda

Red Dead Redemption 2 Horse Chase

It’s unclear whether or not Rockstar intends to fix this flying horse glitch, as players are able to make use of the bug in public lobbies.

As you can see in PVP Cat’s most recent YouTube video, the bug allows you to fly above the map whilst riding a horse. While it may seem harmless, taking this exploit into public lobbies allows players to throw dynamite, shoot, and just generally grief other players.

The bug itself doesn’t require players to modify any game files or make use of any illicit cheats, but we don’t exactly recommend trying this bug as Rockstar could decide to ban players if they wish. Although it’s definitely unlikely.

If you do want to take to the skies in Red Dead Online, PVP Cat has all the details on how to do it. But it should be noted that you need to grab a friend to do the glitch!
